Where to ponder over a coffee?

My local cafe over the road, which has successfully traded for the last 7 years closed overnight and all furniture removed.

Things must be tough out there!

I am sure the new workplace regulations didn’t help. Well done regulators ...that’s about 7 people (full time and part time) out of work.

The owners sold a very nice house in Adelaide St East ...one of Clayfield’s best streets... to lease and fit-out this restaurant and rent a place to live in.

That original house would have doubled in value since then but I bet they have burnt their proceeds for 7 years hard labour at the cafe.
They could have sold that house today and paid no CGT and be at the beach sitting pretty.
